As I previously shared Milestone 3 & 4: Most Valuable Product vs Minimal Viable Product I’ve been in this mindset of when to close the project out and call it done.
Now yes I should have stated a “definition of done” at the start, I had a rough idea in my head but never stated it. Ooops!
That said I’ve kept the early milestones very minimal up to this point and would say in the past milestone I’ve moved from “Minimal Viable Product” to “Most Valuable Product” for myself. I wanted to be sure that this is something that I would use myself before asking others to do the same. More importantly would I pay for this? I can’t ask users to pay for osmething that I wouldn’t myself.
Final Outsourced Milestone
Front-end UI Improvements
The site will be fully responsive for desktops, tablets, and phones.
The following pages should be styled; Home, Athlete, Community, Watchlist, Video Detail, Athlete, Community Profile and Login.
The home page hero section is a carousel - the ability to have multiple images/features with a carousel-like interaction.
The lanes should have an invisible horizontal scroll so users can quickly scroll with a mouse OR use arrow interaction on screen.
The site should have appropriate hover states and interactions on the desktop. The search button should animate left to show an invisible input field to search In some cases, "video detail" and "athlete profile" videos are shown in a grid instead of horizontal lanes.
Back-end Improvements
Migrate the db and application to sub-domain and off sandbox serverse
Marketing and Validation
Build simple landing page with sign up for early access
Research payment flow with Stripe
Define onboarding flow for early users
The Core Offering
If you haven’t checked out the previous milestones 1, 2, 3 and 4.
For those that have followed the last few articles, you are probably asking;
Why do I want to use AMRAP TV?
After all said and done the MVP product will have the following features;
Never miss any content from the community.
A single platform that provides only content within the community.
Ability to follow your favourite athletes, brands, community personalities and content creators.
Ability to add items to a Watch List.
Future features to validate
Of course there are more ideas that we can implement. Of course there will be feedback and validation that create new ideas. This is what I’ve documented but haven’t developed.
Ability to “Tip” an athlete, personality and content creator. The ability to financially donate or reward is something the community would like to do.
Maybe there are tiered packages similar to a Patreon which unlocks special benefits for users that want to support specific athletes.
Content Creator/Athlete side - of course this MVP is fully targetted to the community. There is the other persona of the folks creating content. What does their experience look like? There are many features that can be created to help create more engaging platform within the community.
Speaking of community, could this platform include more community offerings, chat, messaging, and social sharing.
Ability to pull in media from other sources such as instagram or tiktok. Maybe there is space not just for long-form content but also short-form content.
Ability to host exclusive live stream events.
That’s a decent wish list at this point.
Sign up to be an early tester!
I’m looking for a number of users to test out the platform, validate the idea and understand if there is space for this within the community.
